The winner of the Etsy and Green is Universal Art of ReUse contest was announced this morning on the TODAY Show by Kathie Lee and Hoda. Congratulations to Jill Morrison, the creator of the Cast Iron Bathtub Couch. See Jill’s entry here.
Earlier this month, a call for submissions was made to submit your best and most creative examples of ReUse. We received an overwhelming amount of submissions and opened up voting to the public. The top 10 finalists were then reviewed by our celebrity panel of judges. All of the finalists stretched the judges’ imaginations, but Jill’s won out, saving what might otherwise have added to a landfill and converting it to a functional home furnishing!
Earlier this week, iVillage and Green is Universal launched our latest iPhone app – iShop Green – an easy-to-use utility app for eco-conscious consumers that offers instant access to green-rated retailers, local farms and farmers markets and the iVillage eco-community.
The app is the third to launch under the iVillage App Network slate and the second for Green is Universal. “Living a ‘greener’ lifestyle has become a top priority for today’s women,” said Douglas Gottlieb, Vice President of User Experience, iVillage. “This app will provide women with up-to-the-minute access to the latest eco-products and all them to stay connected wtih thousands of conversations around green happening everyday – both locally and around the country.”
We hope you’ll find it resourceful and useful as you make decisions on your green shopping selections. If you’d like to see any features or functions added, please send us feedback and we’ll consider your suggestions for the next version!
