Building on our commitment to sustainability across NBCUniversal, Green is Universal will celebrate Earth Week with a slate of environmentally-themed events, programming, and public awareness initiatives. Our on-air and digital properties will incorporate environmental education and themes in content including:

Access Hollywood, Access Hollywood Live and Access Hollywood Weekend Show will feature green segments on eco-conscious celebrities and their lifestyles, as well as a The More You Know environmental behind- the-scenes story.

Bravo will air programming with green themes from the Real Housewives of Orange County, Million Dollar Listing, and Watch What Happens Live during Earth Week.

Chiller will run a slate of movies that take place in the dark to celebrate our Earth Week theme “Lights Off. Screens On.” including: The Whisperer in the Darkness on 4/21 at 8PM, Shadow at 10:30PM, Nightwolf on 4/22 at 8PM, Tower Block at 10PM, Night of the Living Dead on 4/23 at 8PM, Doghouse at 10PM, Little Monsters on 4/24 at 8PM, The Signal at 10PM, “Hidden” on 4/25 at 8PM, Vanishing on 7th Street at 10PM, and Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant on 4/26 at 9PM.

CLOO will run episodes of Monk and MacGyver with environmental themes, as well as the film Against the Dark.

CNBC will feature green investment and business themes on Closing Bell, Street Signs, Squawk Box, Squawk on the Street, Power Lunch and Mad Money.

E! will run green-themed celebrity stories in E! News including fashion and healthy living features.

Fandango will feature the Best Green Movies photo gallery on their site.

Golf Channel will have multiple guests on Golf Central and Morning Drive to discuss the environment, as well as including green golfing tips in their instructional shows.

iVillage will be engaging their audience around food, health, and beauty featuring environmental content throughout Earth Week.

LX TV will run a special eco episode of Open House in shows on 4/26 and 4/27.

MSNBC’s NewsNation with Tamron Hall and Melissa Harris Perry will explore environmental injustice and impact of pollution exposure.

NBC will air programming with environmental themes in two episodes of American Dream Builders on 4/20 and 4/27 featuring eco-contestant Darren Moore and green home renovations.  Additionally, the 4/23 episode of Days of Our Lives and 4/29 episode of About a Boy will include environmental education.

NBC Late Night’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers will include environmental themes in show content.

NBC News will re-air an episode of Ann Curry Reports, entitled “Our Year of Extremes – Did Climate Change Just Hit Home?” in select markets during Earth Week.

NBCUniversal Owned Stations will be participating in Earth Week in a variety of ways, including covering potential stories and events that are relevant to each specific market. The stations’ websites will also will feature green content.

The NBC Sports Group will incorporate green-themed programming throughout Earth Week. NHL Live studio programming will spotlight what select NHL playoff teams are doing to be green. In addition, SportsDash will include green themes all week, ranging from covering the latest sports trends to unearthing green initiatives across sports leagues and properties. In addition, SportsDash will cover NASCAR’s environmental efforts at Richmond International Raceway as well as an environmental service project.

Nightly News will air conservation related segments.

Oxygen will run episodes of The Face on 4/21 and Tori and Dean on 4/23 that include energy conservation themes.

Sprout will promote Earth Week through kid-friendly green information on its daily live The Sunny Side Up Show and with the 4/22 premiere of Tree Fu Tom, an animated series about the amazing adventures of a young boy and an enchanted kingdom called Treetoplis.

Syfy will feature a Earth Week slate of natural disaster movies including: Metal Tornado, Alien Tornado (4/22), Storm War, Annihilation Ba’al : The Strom God, Polar Storm (4/23), Megafault, Ice Twisters,  Swamp Volcano (4/24), and The Day After Tomorrow (4/27).

Telemundo will feature environmental information and tips on recycling as well as green kitchen segments and celebrity stories in Un Nuevo Dia, Al Rojo Vivo, Noticiero Telemundo, Titulares y Mas, Titulares Telemundo, and Ritmo Deportivo.

TODAY will air a variety of segments throughout Earth Week on greening your home, when it is worthwhile to buy green, eco- travel resorts, green gadgets, fashions, and more.

UniversalHD will air episodes of Monk including one that explores earth quakes and their environmental impacts.

USA will run a slate of Modern Family episodes with environment themes on Earth Day, 4/22 from 8-10PM.

The Weather Channel® will premiere “Cracked—Running Out of Water: A Special Investigation,” an ongoing series chronicling how American communities are grappling with a looming crisis of depleting water supplies. Airing throughout the week, during live programming, the series begins in drought-stricken Wichita Falls, Texas, which could be the largest American city to run out of water.
